Traditional liquid plasticizers will have the tendency of precipitation, which will adversely affect the materials in use.

Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the amount of liquid plasticizer to reduce the risk of its precipitation. The concept of solid plasticizer is relative to that of liquid plasticizer. It is an auxiliary plasticizer, which is usually used together with the main plasticizer to promote the plasticization of polymer materials and inhibit the precipitation of the main plasticizer.

The molecular formula of dioctyl sebacate of solid plasticizer is C26H50O4, and the molecular formula of dibutyl sebacate is C18H34O4, both of which are organic compounds. So most general plasticizers are solid plasticizers!
